Thinking that she had perhaps visited the art teacher or her first grade teacher during recess I asked whose room she'd been working in, and what her art project was. "Oh," she said, "I wasn't working in the art room. I was coloring my eraser while you were teaching us our science lesson.....but I was paying attention!"

Well, don't despair. I remember being SO irritated with Jordan because during Family Home Evening he would be doing everything BUT listening to the lesson (or so it seemed), yet he insisted he was paying attention, and when I asked him questions about the lesson, he could answer every one. So - maybe this little girl is like him - or like Blake, who still studies with a movie running on one side of him and a video game running on the other, and swears it keeps him from falling asleep over his law texts!
